The Synthetic Dream Foundation's newest album "Mechanical Serpent" is currently finished and being manufactured as you read this. The album is a stylistic continuation of the sound created during the last two albums, with a deft fusion of industrial, IDM, electronica, and orchestral music. The album features guest vocals by Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion and The Gathering), Summer Bowman (the machine in the garden), Susan Siren, and Tamara Kent. The album is being released by Mythical Records, and will be shipping on Feb. 18th 2010. The album is currently in pre-order from both TSDF's and Mythical Record's websites for the price of $10. Some people suggested that I give some information about what I do so here I go. I go to grad school for international development and my major is human security. I focus on human trafficking and plan to pursue a career in that field once I graduate. I am currently volunteering for this organization and will be interning with them over the summer. They have a very small staff but are trying to expand. I have planned this event with the help of my boyfriend and 100% of the ticket sales go directly to the organization. Myself and the DJs are doing this soley to raise money for this cause. Now some info on human trafficking:

The trafficking of human beings is the recruitment, transportation, harbouring, or receipt of people for the purpose of exploitation. It is estimated to be a $5 to $9 billion-a-year industry. Trafficking victims typically are recruited using coercion, deception, fraud, the abuse of power, or outright abduction. Threats, violence, and economic leverage can often make a victim consent to exploitation.

Exploitation includes forcing people into prostitution or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs. For children, exploitation may also include forced prostitution, illicit international adoption, trafficking for early marriage, or recruitment as child soldiers, beggars, or for religious cults.

I'd be more than happy to supply anyone with more information upon request. I don't want to write a book on here.

I currently live in japan with my Wife Jen and our 1 yr old daughter Anastasia. my Current job is finished here in japan in Feb and after 3 heavenly years in Okinawa we will bereturning home to the States and Ohio. i havnt Lived in ohio for 10 years and back then i wasnt into the trance scene so im looking to do some networking. im pretty involved with the beautiful okinawa trance family here and im hoping i can find something similar in ohio. ive recently started VJing so hopefully i can help out in that fashion. other then than that ive helped organize some parties here and other various things. i will be coming back to my roots in Canton so im sure im going to be pretty close to the action. im really looking 4ward to meeting some of yall!!!!

Description:

My summer 2007 schedule was crazy hectic, filled with gigs and gatherings all over Western North America. The event which was the finale was the Symbiosis Gathering in California in September, and this mix reflects a portion of the Sons of Aurora set I played with my partner Norris. The gathering was one of the highlights of my summer and these particular tracks are for me a portal back to that amazing weekend up in the mountains East of San Francisco. The fact that they are all off of the same three labels goes to show that I am a big fan of what Flow, Blue Tunes and Iboga records are up to these days.

This mix is a short one due to the one hour time allowance as it will was featured on Wes Straub's new online radio show 709 Sessions which can be found at: http://www.tribalmixes.org .

Retiring Goahead

Hey all,
It's been real, but it's been a long time coming.....
I am retiring from the world of Dj'ing and event promoting.
It's been a good ride, but I just feel like my life is taking
a different direction right now.

I want to thank all of my friends and Goahead associates
that have worked with me in the past to bring psytrance
to Northeast Ohio. It's been a great ride and I have made
allot of close friends and have had amazing experiences.

People have been asking me when the next Goahead
event will be taking place. The answer is there won't be
for a very long time if ever. I want to go back to the innocence
of the small house party gatherings that just happen
with no stress and planning. Just food, folks and fun.
That was evident to me at Moke's last labor day gathering
at the Possum farm. There was no politics, no pressure,
no planned lineups, people just showed up and it went down
on the underground tip.

I had a great 2007 and capped it off by being able to
play at Aum festival and Gaian Mind. They were both
two of the most amazing Dj experiences that I have ever
had. We also threw 2 pretty amazing parties in 2007
with Winterdelica and Psyberry fields. I want to extend
a special thanks to EVERYONE that was involved in making
those events happen. Even though some of us have moved
on, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I wish you
all the best in whatever you do or promote.

So, Meghan, Moke, Marisa, Nicole, Jamie, Bj, Ross, Roman,
Alberto, Stas, Derek, Terry, Xyla, Steph, Shawn, Erik, Henry, Sid, Anja, Ron,
Jed, Mubali, Dean, Dave, Lauryn, Todd, Trout, Jenn, Bill.....and any
other local crew that has helped Goahead. BOM!! and many
thanks.

Big shouts to the Gaian Mind crew and all who helped plan
the A.U.M Festival. You guys all do it the right way.

You will still be able to catch me at the occasional house
party or small DIY underground gathering. I will also
still probably release online mixes a few times every
year, because I still really love the music.

I have spent so much of my time and energy planning
and promoting events and playing out. I just want to
go out and enjoy what others are putting together
and explore new horizons.

Thanks again to all of my friends.

Norris and I had a blast at Motion Notion (Alberta, Canada) this year, the promoter James really out did himself and the weather was INTENSE but made for big adventures for sure.

We are now excited for our dub/glitch set at Shambhala (British Columbia, Canada) on the Beach stage on Saturday, and of course taking part in the Green Moon (Green Sector & Moon Tribe, hello turbo sound rig!!) camp at Burning Man (Nevada, USA) this August... now that's going to be one hot (+50 Celsius, zero humidity is the forecast) and dusty week in the desert. We will be wrapping up our summer festival season this year by playing at the Symbiosis gathering (California, USA) at the end of September so we are feeling very lucky for having so many incredible opportunities to play some tunes for folks.

We are VERY happy with how our set came together for this years Motion Notion festival, so we decided to record it afterwards here at home and post it up for others to enjoy. This year we were wedged between two full-on psy performers, with Wizzy Noise being the act to follow us, so our set was meant to be a roller coaster through driving minimal tech, progressive and full-on psy. Add to that the fact that our set started out with hot dry sky's filled with stars and ended during a MASSIVE rain/thunder storm with tornado warnings for the area in effect... talk about INTENSE!!!! In the end our laptop finally stopped working and our fear was that it had actually shorted out due to the rain but the next day it started up without a hitch which was a HUGE relief. Our goal was to keep everyone engaged, twist a few noodles and not burn people out on the full-on. From all the super-positive feedback I think we managed to kick some ass!! Many of the tracks are killer classics, with a few shinny new ones thrown in, and the overall flow is a bit of a journey so sit back and imagine the thunder clouds closing in from behind, and as the mix ends the rain is coming down with a vengeance and the clouds are swirling with the threat of tornadoes. They don't call us Sons of Aurora for nothing....

If one had to say a few words to sum up the multifaceted musical talent of Titonton Duvanté, adjectives like innovative, ambitious and creative could be used to describe him. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Titonton wrote his first song at the age of five entitled "Journey to the Stars." As a child, he was drawn to the upbeat rhythms of disco and the futuristic sounds of early electronic music such as Yellow Magic Orchestra and Gary Numan. As Titonton matured, he was intrigued by the music associated with breakdancing. He admired the Electro sound, as well as the sounds of The Art of Noise, Depeche Mode and New Order. He also enjoyed classical music, and in the autumn of 1989 began his studies of Classical Composition and Opera Performance at the Ohio State University. In April of 1990, Titonton purchased his first piece of professional electronic equipment and has been composing ever since.
In the autumn of 1991, the seminal techno band Body Release was formed with members Todd Sines, Charles Noel and Mike Szewczyk. Functioning as the core composer of the group, Titonton formed his unique style of music making. After the breakup of the band in the autumn of 1993, he began to seriously try his hand at the art of being a deejay. Titonton's composing took a back seat for a period of time while he developed the skills required to express what he conceptualized. His musical techniques have been influenced by the ideologies of jazz improvisation and John Cage. If you are lucky enough to catch one of Titonton's live PA or DJ sets, you will see that this man invests a lot of his own emotion into the music that he doles out to the audience.

Titonton has played throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia including gigs in Chicago, Detroit(including DEMF 2001), Boston, New Orleans, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, Geneva, Vienna, London(Co-op), Paris(Rex Club), Barcelona(Moog), Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Brussels, Berlin(Tresor), and Tokyo(Liquid Rooms). He has also gained notoriety as a recording artist releasing music on numerous labels such as: Palette, 7th City, 21/22 Corporation, Central, Planet E, Starbaby, SSR/Reflective, Phono/Environ, Multiplex, Metamorphic, 2000 Black and Transfigure to name a few. In addition to releasing music on all of these labels, Titonton has also released tons of material on his own label, Residual Recordings which he runs with partner Thomas James.

Family Affair review and pics

Well, I will say that I had a pretty darn good time at Family Affair, but there were a couple minor issues. One, was that there were just too many stages. I really can't remember just exactly how many stages there were, but it really separated people, and a lot of times you could hear the sound clashing from the other stages.

Then the other issue was that a lot of the music just didn't grab me! With tons of stages, you'd think I'd find something that would interest me. There was some kick ass music, but there was definitely a lot of crappy music as well. Highlights for me were: Terry Mullen, Gavin Hardkiss, Aligning Minds, Atomic Babies, Andy James and of course my boy UZI! :)

I got to kick it with Jen Mas and her crew from New York. Super cool peeps! I haven't seen her since when we headlined Beat Fighter Two Turbo in Detroit back in '04 with T. Linder and Rob Rage, so it was great to catch up.

The dudes of Aligning Minds are super cool and I cannot wait to kick it with them again in Arkansas here in a couple weeks. And they played some kick-ass down tempo breakbeats on the main stage Saturday afternoon!

I had a blast spinning on the tek-know stage! Thanks, Derek for all the pics you took of me! ;)

It felt so refreshing to take a dip in the Ohio River! Even saw a group of peeps floating down the river on their air mattress playing pirates. One had a toy sword and another had a fake parrot on their shoulder...lol!

I felt good vibes all weekend and everyone I met was very cool!

The Chilluminati are in our third year of Illinois outdoor psytrance under the Secret Fire banner. The Fire dances in the psychedelic sonic landscapes we create.

META is the psychedelic trance project of Aeon La France, trance mastermind since 1999. Host of psytrance radio show "Highway 604", he has hosted many parties at Santa Cruz's legendary Trance Mansion and has much gratitude and love toward all the Bay Area DJ's who have helped shape his style.

Primordial Ooze ~ Divine Balance Records, Chicago
The Primordial Ooze project was created by DJ's Kaiser Soze and S.O.T. as an experiment in genetic sound programming and nano-acoustic engineering. Self-replicating and mutating algorithms, swarms of frequencies that collaborate, breed and communicate, flourish in an environment of artificial selection and continual evolution. Currently working on two albums this energetic live act is continuously expanding their farm of pet-frequencies with various sonic creatures. These lively pets can cause serious mayhem on the dancefloor! But with properly tied shoes, participants are generally safe and happy.

Dave Henshaw ~ Changmian/Sonic Beating Productions, Boston
Dave recently pre-ordered a Jason Varitek action figure and spent too much on shipping. He threw away his cell phone two years ago and now prefers endmills to emails. He has a profound appreciation for the music of Iboga Records and the city of Boston. Two ninjas guard his two prized jade plants and his one pair of sox. He bleeds deep red. People usually smile when they hear his name and say, 'Dave? He’s like 75% baseball fanatic, 50% philosophy-geek, and 99% percent PROG-HEAD.' (Not all his friends failed high-school math, though.)

Professor X ~ Trance Psyndicate, Illinois
Professor X started djing electronic music in 1998 when he was going to one of the top audio schools in the country, and started DJ'ing in Orlando, Florida, playing at bigger clubs like Hard Rock Live and The Groove. Soon after meeting DJ Zero Six in his hometown in Illinois, he discovered psytrance and became a core element of the Trancepsyndicate. He has played at parties such as the Cosmic Outset, Earthdance, and the Apsylum for the Unsane.

Derby ~ T.O.U.C.H Samadhi, Chicago
After traveling around Europe collecting vinyl, Derby was introduced to the melodic and twisting sounds of psychedelic trance. Later he met up with Kri and became a member of Asheville NC's TOUCH Samadhi. One day Derby woke up in Chicago, IL. Now he is a prime psytrance vector, infecting the Midwest with his sound. Through international mail-order, Derby constantly updates his collection of morphing multi-layered psychedelic trance. In love with the music and the dance floor, Derby delivers the sounds and energy to the ears and minds of those "tuned in" and "turned on".

Mr. Roboto ~ Trance Psyndicate, Chicago
Robert Houchin aka Mr. Roboto is a force majeure to full-on morning trance. Starting out in various garage bands, he yearned for something more. Something crunchy. When he stumbled upon the Trance Psyndicate in their underground bomb shelter sessions, he immediately knew where he wanted to take his music. Originally from a one-horse town in central Illinois, he now resides in big-ass Chicago, and has been rumored to be working on original material in the studio.

Robyo ~ Audiognomes, Rockford
Robyo was born and raised on the wrong side of the tracks in badass Rockford, where he played bass in several well-known punk and hardcore bands. At the age of 21 he moved to Oregon state and discovered electronica. While in the Pacific Northwest, he learned to play the djembe and didjeridoo, but now he is back in the Midwest with a vengeance. Robyo's style is analogous to the ocean's tides where tempo, density and color sway though time and a divine oscillating influence. An avid fan of psychedelic production techniques, he prefers tribal, dub, ambient and trance soundscapes.

Damon ~ Divine Balance Records/Chillumafia, Poland

But is that really what it’s all about? She says, no. Juggling, theatrics, artistry, and design, among other things; that’s what it’s really all about. The strange creature you may see burning atop the bonfire is the product of her imagination, and the strange creature you may see juggling fire, and causing a ruckus amongst the townsfolk, is the Spyder herself.

What can I say? It was a Psyberrylicious time! The music was phenomenal, and I enjoyed every single set that I heard so to the people who were on our flyer, you are all amazing :) The visuals were some of the best that I have ever seen (thanks Egnogra!), I was happy with the way that the deco turned out, and the performers of SAFMOD were frolicking fantastically as usual (thank you!!). Everyone that I came into contact with was as happy as could be, and I could not have asked for anything better. Many thanks to everyone who helped make this happen and everyone else who made this a memorable night!! I could write more, but most of you were there and know what I am talking about. To those of you who missed out I am sorry for your loss, hopefully we will catch you next time :)

Traveling from Warsaw, Poland for a debut performance is Kino Oko (Live!),
Jurek Przezdziecki (Live!) (aka Epi Centrum, Mass Turbo), Epi Centrum

material, which is expected to be released sometime in 2007. The opening act

I just finished this lil project the other day. 63 MB of drum samples each with thier reversed counterpart (mirror image waveform). download away. sorry i didnt get around to naming each sample with a nifty little catch phrase, you will have to listen to them to get a feel for where you will want to use them. keep in mind some of the reversed samples are .5 seconds or longer, so some creative pattern sequencing to make the beats line up in your tracks may be necesarry. Samples are in .wav format.
